Jewish Silicon Valley is the new agency resulting from a merger between the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley and the Addison-Penzak JCC in February 2021

The Torah tells us that every person is created in the Divine Image, B’Tzelem Elohim.

We respect the inherent dignity and autonomy of each child. We value children because of who they are. Each child has something to learn, something to teach, and something to contribute.

Jewish Silicon Valley’s inclusion efforts help every child and their families feel connected, supported, and happy.

Our Inclusive Programs:

APJCC Preschool

Support, Guidance, & Experience

We recently achieved a major milestone towards this vision through hiring our new Inclusion Specialist: an experienced professional who will support families and children on the special needs journey in and outside of the classroom.

APJCC Preschool Mission

The APJCC Preschool provides a developmentally appropriate program that is inspired by Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations, while welcoming families and staff of all ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Together we create a safe and healthy school environment that encourages children to wonder, explore, inquire, discover, and collaborate in their own learning. We build a community that is caring, nurturing, and supportive for all families.

Camp Shalom

“Chaverim” Inclusion Program

Chaverim means “Friend” in Hebrew, and is the name of our 1:1 camper advocate program. In this program campers are paired with an advocate to facilitate social inclusion and friendship  in daily activities, such as swimming, arts and crafts, cooking, field trips, and other camp activities.

Fitness Services

APJCCC Fitness & Aquatics

The APJCC Fitness & Aquatics teams are experienced professionals with a passion and belief that working out and taking care of yourself is for everyone. Several of our personal trainers and swim staff have experience working directly with members of varying physical and neurological abilities, and ages.

Early Years Support Group

This group is for parents/caregivers of children ages approximately 2-8 with any diagnosis*. The group is co-sponsored by the Los Gatos JCC and Parents Helping Parents.

The journey to, through, and beyond a special needs diagnosis can make the parenting experience all the more intense. All the more so during the pandemic! Join an intimate circle of fellow travelers for sharing, listening, and supporting each other with practical advice.

Facilitated by Maria Johnson, an elementary school teacher and special needs mom. The group is compassion-based and anyone interested in meeting others sharing the journey of parenting a child with special needs is encouraged to attend.

Who should attend: Parents/caregivers only. No observers, please.

Every other Monday | 8:30pm to 9:30pm
Cost: Free

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley is a nonprofit community center that welcomes people of all faiths.  We work to enhance Jewish life in Silicon Valley, and to provide social, cultural, educational and recreational services for the entire community. The JCC is committed to making it possible for individuals with special needs to participate in JCC activities. While inclusion is not yet possible for every individual with special needs, we are working toward it.
