This 6-week class focuses on skills needed to get ready for writing by using developmentally appropriate and fun learning activities. If your child has difficulty with the shoulder and postural strength needed for writing, fine motor skills, pencil grasp, shape formation, or simple drawing, then this is the class for them.

Activities focus on:

• Hand and Grasp Development
• Letter and Number Recognition
• Coloring
• Drawing Shapes and Simple Pictures
• Writing Upper-Case Letters

This class is taught using sensory-motor activities based on the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum. It is taught by an occupational therapist using simple techniques and adaptive equipment when needed.

Summer classes begin June 21st and are held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 1:30-2:30 pm for six weeks. Classes will include a variety of gross motor and fine motor activities with homework sent home each week.
