Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California

  • Education Service programs for individuals and their families, health and public safety officials, schools and other professionals are available.
  • The Information Resource Center offers a broad range of information about epilepsy and assistance in reaching healthcare and other needed services. We provide print materials and videos for use in the community.
  • Support Groups are available throughout the region to provide a place to talk with others who share the same issues, exchange information, help with coping and promote friendships.
  • Advocacy to assure the best interests of those we serve in legislation and community activities.
  • Research to enable better diagnostic tools, treatment and a cure for epilepsy.
  •  The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California’s Youth Summer Camp gives its young participants an unforgettable experience. For one week kids aged 9-16 will get together to enjoy the great outdoors and the friendships that come with a trip to camp – but also leave behind some of the challenges that epilepsy can bring to their daily lives. Surrounded – some for the first time - by dozens of other kids who know exactly what having epilepsy means, they need not worry about what people might think if they have a seizurebecause they'll be supported round the clock by physicians and nurses specialized in epilepsy care.Youth Summer Camp provides an enjoyable residential camping experience for children with epilepsy, develops self-esteem by promoting self-confidence and building lasting friendships, and fosters independence in a fun and safe environment away from home.

Youth Summer Camp 2013 will be held at CYO Camp in Occidental, California from July 28th to August 2nd.  In order to apply for this year's camp, applicants will need to submit both the CYO Youth Health Form as well as our Youth Summer Camp application.  Please mail both applications to 155 Montgomery St. Suite 309, San Francisco, CA 94104, or fax to (415) 677-4190 before June 1, 2013.  We look forward to seeing you this summer!
