Free Airplane Rides
The pilots of EAA62 of Santa Clara County are taking young people 8-17 years old FLYING for FREE in small aircraft this Saturday May 14, 2011, out of San Martin airport, down Hwy 101 just south of San Jose, just north of Morgan Hill.
The free flights are approximately 20 minutes. Flights generally runs from 9am-2pm, but they sometimes have to cancel early if the winds are too high, or if they don't have enough pilots.
If you have young people who want to go flying for FREE, you MUST sign them up online asap, before flights fill up. Sign up online here:
Note that parents or legal guardians will also have to sign a waiver before the flights, but once you sign up online, we will send you the forms to sign. Please don’t delay. Sign those kids up asap before flights fill up. THEN arrive as EARLY as you can in the day. Remember: the flights are FREE and we have to rely on generosity of volunteer pilots, and when the pilots decide to stop flying, that's it for the day...
Simultaneously, the fabulous 11th annual “Wings of History” open house and festival happens at the airport. You won’t believe the fun of this event. Hot air balloons (some pilots might give tethered rides if the winds are low enough), bigtime RC airplane demos, tons of airplane displays, you name it.
