Trudy Marsh Holmes, former IHSS Advisory Board Member This presentation will assist you in the preparatory process of the assessment for Protective Supervision through In Home Support Services for adults (18 and over) that qualify for Medi-Cal. Your child may be living at home with your or in their own home to be eligible for this service. You might even be paid as the provider of their services. If your child already receives IHSS—are they receiving all the hours in which they are entitled? Services provided are based on needs, and may include:

• domestic services (vacuuming, dusting, etc.)
• related services (meal preparation, shopping, running errands, etc.)
• non-medical personal care services (bowel and bladder care, grooming, bathing, etc.)
• transportation
• yard hazzard abatement
• protective supervision
