Teen Sibshops

Sun, Jun 1, 2008: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Sibling Support Group for Teens Contact: Leslie Vasquez (lesliev@php.com), Tel: 408-727-5775 ext. 144 Brothers and sisters of kids with disabilities now have a chance to meet, have fun, and talk with other teens whose sibs have special needs. They'll be able to talk about the good and not-so-good parts of having special siblings, while having a great time playing awesome games such as ping-pong, volleyball, and other indoor and outdoor fun. Brothers and sisters may have feelings that are difficult to express, even to a friend or parent. At Teen Sibshops, siblings will share these feelings with others who can understand. Besides peer support, Teen Sibshops provide participants with an opportunity to learn more about their sibling's disability. Most important, Teen Sibshops are fun! Teen Sibshops are co-sponsored by Parents Helping Parents, Inc. and the El Camino YMCA. The workshops are held in the Teen Center at the El Camino Branch YMCA in Mountain View. In 2007-2008, Teen Sibshops will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on the following dates: 9/30/07, 12/02/07, 2/3/08, 4/6/08, and 6/1/08. For more information or to register, please call Leslie Vasquez at (408) 727-5775 ext. 144 or lesliev@php.com.
