The Signs, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Dyslexia AND How Learning Disabilities Affect Children's Self-Esteem

Brooke Cargile will discuss current information about dyslexia, including what is dyslexia, the red flags parents and teachers can identify, and what to do if they believe a student might have dyslexia. This talk will include the process for diagnosing a specfic learning disability and the treatments available to students with learning disabilities.

Patty Bardina will discuss the effects of learning disabilities on children's sense of identity and self-esteem as well as strategies parents and teachers can use to support children's self-esteem.
