Autism Spectrum Disorders

Thu, Dec 10, 2009: 9:30 am to 12:15 pm

This presentation, formulated for FIRST 5 professionals but to which other professionals as well as parents/caregivers are welcome, will address charateristic red flags, both the more common as well as the more subtle ones; causes; diagnosis; and strategies for parents to use in working with the challenging behaviors of their young child.

The goal of this two hour talk as well as the immediately-following 45 minute panel of PHP staff members (who are parents of children with autism or other ASD diagnoses) is to provide you with information, resources and strategies to ensure you feel more comfortable and confident in supporting the families of these children. Your questions and concerns will be welcomed and will make this event interactive and better focused on your immediate needs.
