Encouraging Sensory Processing and Motor Development Through Play

Parents, family and caregivers will gain an understanding of the sensory systems and how they affect motor development, learning and social interaction. Vision, hearing, touch, taste and smell, as well as the proprioceptive and vestibular systems will be discussed. The importance of play to a child’s development will be emphasized, and ideas given on how to create an optimal play environment which promotes creativity, self motivation, sensorimotor development and learning.
