The RiSE (Resources in Special Education) Library is funded through the Special Education Division of the California Department of Education. The RiSE collection is geared toward an educational and professional point of view with a collection of over 3000 items. It has over 250 items on transition and 300 on inclusion.

The books and videos can be requested by phone or email and received via mail. The librarian is here Monday to Friday from 10am - 4pm to make suggestions on certain topics and do searches to find current information for you. I hope that you will visit and utilize our special need library soon. They say knowledge is power, and together we can help those children with special needs achieve their full potential.

Other topics include:

  • educational law and legislation
  • referral and assessment
  • IEP development
  • Section 504
  • cultural diversity
  • disability awareness
  • collaboration with teachers and parents
  • curriculum modifications
