At Parents Helping Parents, ALL families are welcome!
We are committed to helping you and your child get the services and support you need to help your family thrive! We never require information about your income, immigration status, race, national origin, sexual orientation, or housing status.
All conversations you have with PHP staff are confidential. You can also be anonymous.
Thank you for trusting us to help you build a bright future for your child with special needs.
Work With Your School
Parents Helping Parents Education Specialists can help you navigate the often confusing and complicated maze of special education and related services.
Parents Helping Parents Education Specialists will help you understand your rights and responsibilities, answer questions, guide you through strategies to prepare for important meetings, help you set priorities and problem-solve, help you build skills for stressful situations, and show you how to model collaborative communication.
Together with Parents Helping Parents Education Specialists, most of whom are parents of children with disabilities themselves, you will learn the complexities of special education and become an informed and active participant in your child’s education.
Our Education Specialists serve families in Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties in California.
Help For Your Family
At Parents Helping Parents, we appreciate that you may have many questions and a sense of uncertainty right now. We want you to know that you are not alone in your journey.
Receiving a diagnosis for your child is challenging at any age. With the help of compassionate, professional, and personally experienced Parents Helping Parents staff, you will be supported, educated, and inspired to build a bright future for your child with special needs.
You will gain emotional and practical support specific to your concerns and your child’s needs, information on how to navigate the complex systems of special education, and legal, social service, and medical systems of care. You will connect with other families like yours to learn from one another and create meaningful relationships.
We have a variety of special needs parent support groups to choose from that you can join, and learn from other parents.
Parents Helping Parents will work with you to discuss your concerns, identify needs and resources to meet them, and set a course of action for you and your child to thrive!
