Welcome to About Special Kids! We are the place for families and professionals in Indiana to go to “ASK” questions about children with special needs and to access information and resources about a variety of topics such as health insurance, special education, community resources and medical homes. ASK is your connection to family support in the state of Indiana!

A- A+
About Special Kids is a “Parent to Parent” organization working throughout the state of Indiana to answer questions and provide support, information and resources. We are parents and family members of children with special needs and we help other families and professionals understand the various systems that are encountered related to special needs.
Parent Liaisons
As a parent, once you make contact with About Special Kids, you will likely be connected with a staff parent liaison who is a trained and experienced parent of a child with special needs. Parent liaisons focus on teaching families how to anticipate child and family needs, identify family and community resources, and access community systems to help them meet the needs of their children. Additionally, About Special Kids’ parent liaisons follow up with each family. So…even if there is something that you forget to ASK during that first call, you will have plenty of contact with our staff to anticipate and to help answer your questions.

To get connected to a parent liaison, please call 800-964-4746 or click here.

“Thank you, Parent Liaisons.  I am so thankful for you guys.  You are doing such great things
for the children in our communities!  I want everyone to know how much I appreciate you.”
~ Bettina O. Voigt, RN, CCM Evolent Case Manager
Resource Directory
About Special Kids’ Resource Directory allows families and professionals to find resources in a searchable database format and contains community resources and other pertinent information related to children with special needs – from local to nationwide organizations.  You can visit the directory 24-hours a day and search by keyword, county, or by service category.  You can find listings for support groups, respite care, disability specific resources, recreation, camps, and much more.
