Social Lives are Online, and so has The BFF Project!
Join us as we all socialize online in this time of social distance.
Parents /Supporters do not actively participate but may need to support the set up of the Zoom app and be tech support. We recruit volunteers to help participants and to facilitate interaction. If your participant is only able to be at ease with you at their side, we welcome you to join as well!
YOU MUST Register in advance for this meeting.
Registration Closes at 12 PM day of the Event.
The registration link is live the week before the event, with the next available date.

We do expect parents and supporters to monitor the participant’s online safety as this new way of interacting and they may need that level of support.
The BFF Project events are not a single-topic event or opportunity. It is all based on the interests of all the people participating. This is a judgment-free and stigma-free environment. Participants have the opportunity to grow in their relationships and find companionship with others that share their interests.
Our person-centered approach means that you or the individual you support will be alongside peers sharing and talking about their interests with each other.
During the event parents/caregivers stay in the same room but need not be online, Offering reassurance to the participants in this new setting. If your participant needs you at their side for a bit to get comfortable, that’s okay too.
Have your child/client have items available to share that speak to their interests.
The majority of individuals attending need no support to participate. They should be ready to make connections with others who share their interests. We have had people attend that have autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, and those with head injuries.
If your son or daughter has mental health support needs, we recommend NAMI of Santa Clara County or the county in which you live.https://namisantaclara.org/
