As parents of children with special needs, we are often the emotional caregiver for the family. Join these series to get the skills you need
We are concerned about our diagnosed child, our typical child, other family members and advocating for the relationships of our child with teachers, therapists, medical teams and others who are involved in our child’s care. What we generally fail to consider is our own emotional health.
Join us over the next 8 weeks to look at the emotions that impact us as caregivers specifically through the lens of special needs parents in order to gain a broader understanding of the emotions in a safe and supportive environment so that we can heal and thrive through the challenges faced by special needs families
Weekly Topic: : Loss and Despair
Register to attend each week or drop in when you can!
The group is facilitated by Laura Beth DeHority, LMFT, parent to special needs young adults, and former corporate communicator. Her goal is to establish practical skills to lower parental stress in a time period unlike any other.
