March 18, 2019 5:00 pm to June 3, 2019 6:15 pm
This group will provide a launching point for children to begin to develop self-awareness through the use of Social ThinkingⓇ curricula such as Superflex and The Incredible Flexible You, The Zones of RegulationⓇ, The Alert ProgramⓇ and Sensory Integration approaches. Through concrete concepts, social stories, and dynamic/collaborative play, the children and their parents will begin to foster an understanding of:
*social rules and expectations
*sensory motor strategies to support regulation
*common language regarding behaviors and emotions
Boys and girls ages 8-11 are eligible for this group; however, participants will be accepted based on how well their needs and abilities fit with the group dynamic. If your child has not been previously assessed by an Occupational Therapist, an initial screening ($250) may be required to ensure the group is well-matched with your child’s needs and abilities.
Jessica Macey, MS, OTR/L will be leading this group.
