Join Our Support Group for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Do you think your child or teen may be affected by exposure to alcohol during pregnancy? If so, we invite you to connect with other parents at our Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) support group.
Alcohol exposure can impact the developing fetus in many ways, leading to a condition known as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. This can result in various challenges, especially in behavior and school performance.
It’s important to note that many children with FASD may not show the typical facial features often associated with fetal alcohol exposure. Instead, they might appear completely normal and have average intelligence. However, their developing brains can still face challenges that affect their daily lives. For example, they may:
- Make poor decisions
- Struggle to consider consequences
- Experience meltdowns when frustrated
- Lie or steal
- Have issues similar to ADHD or learning disabilities
We meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 9 PM Pacific Time. Join our Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder support group for foster and adoptive families, and find comfort alongside others who understand your journey. Together, we can share experiences and learn strategies to support our children better. We look forward to welcoming you!
