Share your loved one’s strengths with the world when you create a one-page profile!

A one-page profile is an amazing person-centered tool that communicates, in a simple and visual way, a positively focused summary of what others admire about your child.

It also includes what is important to them, how to best support them, and a way to communicate what’s working and not working for them. It can help teachers, therapists, caregivers, doctors, family members, and others provide person-centered care and support.

Simply put, a one-page profile is a snapshot of how an individual can be best supported. Here’s a redacted version of a real one-person profile.

It’s easy to create a one-page profile. Think about the many ways that your loved one can be supported. Ask yourself questions like: What is their favorite activity? What do they always carry with them? How can I keep them safe? What’s my favorite thing about this person? What do they need help with?

Here are some resources on how to create your own one-page profile:

Once you create a profile, it is so easy to quickly and positively share about your loved one! Teachers, therapists, care and medical staff, community helpers, and more can learn about your loved one from their profile!

You may even find yourself using the same person-centered planning tools to create a profile for all your children, your parents, grandparents, and even yourself!
