Adaptive Learning Center
The mission of the Adaptive Learning Center is to provide a safe and healthy community for adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders to realize their individual potential for self-reliant living as defined by the ability to engage in productive work, to socialize successfully, to attend to their own physical and emotional health, and to experience on-going personal growth.
ALC is a not for profit 501(c) (3), non-sectarian, California Corporation committed to facilitating growth and achievement, through continuous education and therapeutic support, in the lives of adults challenged with neurodevelopmental disabilities typically referred to as Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Most often these challenges render an individual unable to live independently and result in full reliance on their immediate family members for their entire life. ALC has demonstrated long term success with its clients, beginning with the principle that adults leave the parental home. Residing in apartment complexes, clients receive continuous education, training, and support related to critical, inter-connected, elements of life to achieve and sustain their self reliance. These elements include health and living skills, emotional stability, socialization skills, and vocational development.
