American River College’s beautiful 153-acre main campus is in the suburbs of Sacramento, California, on the old Cameron Ranch. We enroll approximately 30,000 students each spring and fall, making it one of the larger higher education institutions in California. Our vision is to transform the future of all students and our community through inclusive, equitable education.
Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS)
DSPS leads the campus community in its commitment to recognize disability as a valued aspect of diversity, to embrace access as a matter of social justice, and to design environments that are more inclusive and welcoming.
Our program provides the institution with resources, education and direct services to ensure individuals with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate and achieve.
DSPS Services
Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Support services include the following:
- Sign Language Interpreters
- Real-Time Captioners
- In-class Aide (such as notetakers)
- A limited number of assistive listening devices and tape recorders

WorkAbility III
The WorkAbility III (WAIII) program helps students with disabilities explore career opportunities, connect to internships, and find a job.
