CHAC is a nonprofit mental health services agency located in Mountain View, CA. We offer counseling, therapy, support groups, classes, and psychoeducational programs to local children, adults, and families.
Services are provided at our clinic, where fees are based on a sliding scale, so no one is turned away for inability to pay. We also work at 33 local elementary, middle, and high schools, providing no-cost counseling, therapy, and a variety of programs to students and their families.
We offer a wide array of counseling, programs, and services to community members of all ages both on-campus at 33 schools, as well as in-house at CHAC’s office in Mountain View, CA.
SERVICES

CHAC remains committed to supporting the emotional well-being and resilience of Northern Santa Clara County and beyond. In response to the global pandemic and the government directive to shelter-in-place, in March 2020 our clinical services transitioned to telehealth for individuals, families, and groups via phone or video sessions. As of July 12, CHAC is offering mental health services in-person at our Mountain View clinic or by phone or video sessions through a secure telehealth platform. Our School-Based Counseling services are continuing and we are here to support parents, guardians, and families who would like additional support. Our Assessment Clinic is open and taking neurocognitive assessment referrals.

We offer many different kinds of mental health services and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and couples as well as psychological assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. All of our services are provided by CHAC masters and doctoral clinicians in training, supervised by licensed mental health clinicians.

We aim to provide you excellent clinical services on a sliding scale that are sensitive to your social and cultural background.

CHAC|arts is on the frontlines, at scale, with crayons and paints meeting pandemic-driven mental health needs.

As our communities and schools continue to prioritize mental health and wellbeing, CHAC|arts is engaging with diverse organizations to deliver innovative process-oriented arts engagements that help to:

  • Increase resilience

  • Reduce anxieties

  • Strengthen social connections

  • Celebrate wellbeing

CHAC Family Resource Centers

Strengthening families, caregivers and communities by learning to make the most out of the first five years of your child’s life.

CHAC’s Family Resource Centers (FRCs) collaborate with FIRST 5 Santa Clara County and other community partners to offer programs that help parents and other caregivers understand the importance of physical and social-emotional development during the first years of life and early school years, along with the family and community engagement needed to build strong communities.

Key areas promoted are:

  • Positive parenting

  • Family resources

  • Skill building

  • Early literacy & language development

  • Healthy lifestyles

  • Community connection

Classes, events, and individual consultations foster ways of building/maintaining a healthy connection between parent and child and increasing resilience in the family. Through the programs at one of our four Family Resource Centers located in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino or selected off-site locations, families:

  • Learn about the importance of early and ongoing involvement in all stages of the child’s life

  • Interact with each other to reduce the sense of isolation, and

  • Increase the support they have in the community

The CHAC Family Resource Centers staff also trains a dedicated group of volunteers—many who have started as participants—who continue to carry out our vision to encourage further community involvement. CHAC Family Resource Centers value all families and recognize the diverse and vibrant populations that make up caring familial units in our neighborhoods. We honor LGBTQ families, immigrant families, bilingual families, multigenerational families, and foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Our goal is to always employ inclusive language, activities, and literature to develop tolerance and foster diversity in our learning communities.

We are proud of the support that we provide to the multi-cultural population in Santa Clara County. CHAC therapists are native speakers in more than 11 languages.
