I am a parent of 4 adult sons with Autism. I started advocating for parents over 25+ years ago. It’s not just a job to me it’s my passion! I advocate for all home, community, and school services including Regional centers, IHSS etc. I am also a person centered planner & independent Facilitator for the program Self determination. I have multiple trainings in all areas related to special Needs. I also do parent mentoring. I do cases in person and via Zoom.

Hello. My name is Danielle Alvarado, I am a parent Advocate. My goal is to help you get the services your loved one needs. I am the parent of four young men who are in their 20’s and 30’s now. Each one has a disability. I have been through alot being in the world of disabilities. I 100% get how hard this can be, how it feels when you feel alone, or have nowhere to turn. I realize this can be difficult at times, but I am here to bare the brunt of that stress. I do this because I truly care and a long time ago someone cared enough to help me. I have the passion and determination to make a difference. I don’t just “talk the talk” I “walk the walk” I put my heart and soul into helping you while maintaining the objective, professional stance needed to help your loved one. My main goal is for you to feel and be more in control of your particular situation.

I have been an advocate for more than 25 and I’ve been a mom for 33 years. I don’t believe in giving up in any situation and I have learned it really does take a village to solve a problem. I work in all aspects of education, Regional Centers, Residential placements, Programing, All community based programs, school programs, and educational services. My past and current cases range from Autism, all developmental disabilities of mental health, and drug/Alcohol cases. There is not much I haven’t seen or heard.

I am here to help you, by coordinating services through various agencies including but not limited to, the Regional Center, Educational Center, Adult Programs, SSI, etc. I attend IEP’s, guidance with family support, provide referrals to help individuals, refer Doctors as well as provide research about any services and/or information that you need help with. I also assist in searching for loving, acceptable, suitable, residential care whether it is long or short term, if your situation warrants. I can help develop an Individualized Educational Plan to obtain social, emotional and educational goals, assessments in areas of suspected disabilities, receive services specifically designed for your child’s special needs and help determine the best placement for your child.

As parents, we are guaranteed the right to be part of a team effort in the planning of our child’s educational journey. However, trying to get through the maze of Special Education Federal and State laws can be very stressful and overwhelming. Every child in California is entitled by law to a free appropriate education tailored to the specific unique needs of the student. My job is not to judge you, my job is to help you and your loved one have a better future, and preserve your family unit and guide you to where you need to be!!

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to have more success and happiness in your life. Please see the “Success Stories” pages for letters from Parents & Professionals that I’ve worked with. I’ve truly experienced first hand that, no matter what, anything is possible. Life CAN be better.
