Decoding Dyslexia California
Decoding Dyslexia California is a grassroots movement driven by CA families concerned with the limited access to educational interventions for dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities within our public schools. We aim to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children and inform policy-makers on best practices to identify, remediate and support students with dyslexia in CA public schools.

Support Groups
Do you know a bright child who struggles to read or write? Are you having trouble navigating the special education process, but don’t know where to turn? Research shows that 1 out of 5 students struggle with reading and spelling. You are not alone. Come meet us for a casual evening of support and discussion. You will learn more about the Decoding Dyslexia CA movement and have a chance to meet with other parents of children with dyslexia.

Sacramento:
Greater Sacramento Area Virtual Group

Upper and Middle Central Valley:
Central Valley Group – meets in Modesto
Tracy Group – meets in Tracy
North Bay:
Sonoma County – no longer meeting; you’re welcome to attend another group that meets online.
Marin County – If you are a parent/caregiver in this area, feel free to attend another group that meets online and/or reach out to DDCA Support Contact, Minna Kim, for local support.
San Francisco/Peninsula:
San Francisco Group – meets on Zoom
Peninsula Group – meets on Zoom (Redwood City, Burlingame, Los Altos, Mountain View, etc.)
San Francisco South Bay:
Santa Clara County Group – meets on Zoom on the last Wednesday of the month. RSVP at bit.ly/SJ-DDCA-REGISTER
San Francisco East Bay:
Central Contra Costa Group – coffee meet-ups alternating in Walnut Creek and Lafayette areas and will join the Zoom meetings hosted by the San Francisco Peninsula Group (Mt. Diablo and Lamorinda school district areas)
Tri-Valley Group – meets on Zoom (San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, etc.)
Los Angeles:
Los Angeles Group – meet on Zoom (greater Los Angeles Area)
LA-South Bay Group – not currently meeting, please attend the Los Angles Group
Orange County:
Huntington Beach Group – meets in Huntington Beach
South Orange County Group – not currently meeting, but you’re welcome to attend another group that meets online.
