We are a national technical assistance center focused on building state and local system capacity to improve outcomes for children with disabilities and their families. ECTA Center is funded by a cooperative agreement with the Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

Primarily serves organizations. Website contains resource information for families:

Welcome, families!

We have designed this page to help families understand their rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), connect with other families, and find high-quality resources related to caring for infants, toddlers and young children with disabilities. ECTA Center relies on families to share their views and help us make sure our work and our products (for example, these Family Practice Guides, which are also available in Spanish) are useful to them and reflect their needs and perspectives.

The ECTA Center is a program of the FPG Child Development Institute of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, funded through cooperative agreement number H326P170001 from the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education.
