Hillsborough Recreation has offered Music For Development class – check schedule to see if it is currently offered.

Music For Development is a class specifically for your special needs child, where he or she can participate in fun music activities that will help reinforce functional, everyday life skills.  We work on positive social interactions & core academic concepts while playing instruments, singing & dancing. Children are free to simply be themselves in our engaging group that encourages successful music experiences for all!

Preschools

Embedded Specialist Curriculum

Both Preschool and Pre-K are visited by a Music specialist once a week to provide instruction in these areas. Their expertise working with this age group provides a strong foundation and love for music and global citizenship.

Thank you for considering the Hillsborough Preschool as an option for your child. We understand that this is an extremely difficult decision for families and we are here to answer any of your questions or concerns as your child embarks on their educational journey. I have been in education for over 18 years, and I am constantly humbled and amazed by what our staff provides to the children who participate in our program. Their ability to understand the needs of each individual child and provide them the best of what they need is second to none. They are also adept at helping parents with everything from potty training to behavior management to exploring new foods at home fostering a relationship that lasts beyond your child’s tenure in the Hillsborough Preschools.

Our ability to provide your child with a program on an elementary campus cannot be overlooked. Your child gets an advanced look at what it’s like to be at the “big” school, and learn routines such as walking quietly on campus, using playground equipment, eating lunch in a cafeteria, and using the library. We also provide a strong academic and social foundation for your children. Through our blend of play-based and academics we strive to prepare our students for their next steps with our goal of readiness for Kindergarten. We believe that our kids are ready socially, emotionally, and academically for what Kindergarten has to offer.

I encourage you to visit our program and see for yourself the amazing community of learning and friendship that our teachers have created.
