IncludeNYC – was Resources for Children with Special Needs Inc.
INCLUDEnyc is the leading provider of training and information for young people with any disability (age 0-26) in New York City, their families, and the professionals who support them. We create access to educational, employment, and independent living opportunities, and advocate with families for meaningful inclusion in the broader community.
INCLUDEnyc is the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center for the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island, funded by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to promote meaningful family involvement within the educational system, build collaborative community relationships, and provide information and training about available service options and delivery systems for children from birth to age 21.
We are also part of the Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC) collaborative for all five boroughs, funded by the U.S. Department of Education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to provide training and assistance to families with children from birth to 26.
Additionally, we are funded by USDOE to operate a Community Parent Resource Center (CPRC) in the South Bronx and northern Manhattan offering direct support and training to young adults, families, and organizations primarily for Spanish-speaking communities.
We also are a part of the RSA-funded REAL Transition Partners—alongside Starbridge, the Parent Network of Western New York, SPAN Advocacy, and Federation for Children with Special Needs—leading a collaborative of 26 parent centers providing young adults with disabilities and their families with postsecondary transition-related information and support across the Northeast and Caribbean.
Resources shares knowledge and support to empower parents and other New Yorkers who care about young people with disabilities. Founded in 1983 by three moms who were looking for resources for their children, Resources has grown to be the premier source for knowledge and help with systems, programs and services affecting young people with disabilities in New York City.
Project Possibility provides intensive, direct support for youth who are transitioning into adult life. Participants create and implement a practical plan designed to lead to job training, employment, higher education, or other community engagement.
