Integem Summer Camp
While our camps aren’t specifically designed to accommodate campers with special needs, many kids with a wide range of needs have had great experiences and loved to learn Holographic AR because it is highly visual, interactive, and empower students to explore, learn, and innovate with future tech.
Autism Children (High-functioning or Asperger)
We found that autistic children enjoyed learning Holographic AR because it is very visual, engaging, and interactive. Holographic AR makes it simple and easy for them to see things from another person’s point of view. It dramatically helps autistic children to learn empathy and socialize with other children. Most importantly, it is great to relish their imaginations and create new things.
The camp is suitable for high-functioning or Asperger’s children. This is an inclusion classroom with small classroom settings (8 students per teacher). If your autistic child needs a 1:1 education, you can contact our customer service to check our online private lessons.
If your child brings an aid, the aid will need to complete a required background check before camp begins.
We recommend an autistic child select at least two-week camps because it often takes some time to be familiar with the environment and the new technology. Most of our autism camps select three weeks or more because they enjoy the camp and would love to learn from beginning to advanced levels.
ADD/ADHD children
ADD/ADHD children love Holographic AR because it is highly engaging and interactive and can draw their attention.
We see ADD/ADHD children love to do game designs, especially they love to design multiplayer holographic AR games where they can invite their friends into their games and play together. Often, when they spend a lot of time focusing on their learning, creating their games, or fixing the bugs, they don’t feel they are working hard. Rather, they feel they are “playing” and having a lot of fun.
If an ADD/ADHD child needs to take certain medications during camp time, please drop the teacher notes and provide instructions. Our teachers will help.
Dyslexia Children
Dyslexia children have a lot of fun learning Holographic AR because they feel empowered to create things. They can learn Holographic AR well without prior knowledge of computer. Our curriculum is designed to adapt to each child’s pace. Dyslexia children are creative and curious. Holographic AR provides a good tool for expressing their ideas and making their imaginations come true.
Other special needs children:
We can usually accommodate most common needs and/or potential challenges, but we know that every person and family is unique. Please feel free to contact our customer service team at 408-459-0657 or email [email protected] for more information about whether our camp would be a good fit for your child.
Note:
If your child has destructive behaviors that may harm themself or others, your child may not be suitable for an inclusion classroom setting. And we would recommend 1 on 1 private online lessons from our specially trained teachers.
If you are unsure whether your camper would enjoy in-person Camp Integem, please give our customer service team a call at +1-408-459-0657.
