OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT
La Familia’s Outpatient Department provides mental health services at a clinic located in Central Hayward. Through our Outpatient Department, we provide therapeutic and case management services to residents of South and Central Alameda County. Our programs provide specialty mental health services to adults with chronic pervasive mental illnesses; children, ages 0 to 18, with full-scope Medi-Cal; and adults in need of crisis stabilization services. Most of our clients deal with significant mental and emotional stressors, including trauma, abuse, domestic violence, discrimination and stress related to poverty, immigration, and acculturation issues and, as many of our clients are first-generation Latino immigrants, our entire clinical team is fluent in Spanish.
Currently, the Outpatient Clinic operates three programs: Service TEAM, Acute Crisis Care and Evaluation for System-Wide Services (ACCESS), and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT). The main objectives of these programs are to meet clients where they are, with the role of the clinician as being a support and advocate for the client. These programs are parts of a contract with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services.

Sally’s Place – Peer Respite Home
Sally’s Place Peer Respite Home is the first and only of its kind in Alameda County. It is staffed by peers, in alignment with the objectives of the Pool of Consumer Champions (POCC) and the Alameda County Accelerated Peer Specialist Program (ACAPS).
Sally’s Place is named for Sally Zinman, a pioneer of the peer-led services movement. Her pivotal work spanning more than 40 years has been an inspiration to consumers and providers alike. Our systems are immeasurably better as a result of her advocacy and legacy.
