Laughing Giraffe Therapy
Laughing Giraffe Therapy (aka The Giraffe) was started by pediatric Occupational Therapist, Aaron DeNardo. Its doors were opened in October of 2015. Aaron passionately carries the vision of an integrated, collaborative, multi-disciplinary pediatric clinic offering Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology and Nutrition services.
We currently offer individual Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy for children and families with a wide range of diagnoses including, but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD and Learning Differences. The Giraffe will offer group services in the future.
The Giraffe is centrally located in San Jose, CA near O’Connor Hospital, Valley Fair Mall and Santana Row and is easily accessible from Highways 280 and 880. We have plenty of off-street parking
Monthly Community Drum Circle
Laughing Giraffe Therapy hosts a community drum circle once a month. We aim to have it on the second Saturday each month but this sometimes fluctuates. Updates, information and announcments about the circle can be found on the Bay Area Drum Circle Meetup page. The circle begins at 4:00 PM and goes as long as the group wants to go. Generally it ends by 7:00 PM. Drummers are welcome to stay as long or short as they want. It is open to all comers and no previous drumming experience is necessary to participate. If you have a drum and a chair please bring them but there are always extra drums and chairs to use. Drumming is known to have many beneficial effects. It is organizing, connecting, grounding, healing, and fun. There is no charge for this group. An offering basket is placed out to receive donations to help cover operating costs.
