Matrix Parents is part of Marin CIL (Marin Center for Independent Living)

Empowering families of children with special needs to successfully understand and access the systems that serve them.

Serving the California counties of Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma.

WHAT WE DO…

  • Help families learn how to obtain appropriate education and services for their children with diverse abilities
  • Work collaboratively to improve education results for all children
  • Train and inform parents and professionals on a variety of topics
  • Facilitate parent-professional collaborative activities
  • Help resolve problems between families and schools or other agencies
  • Connect families of children with diverse abilities to community resources that address their needs

FEC, FRC, PTI Center

Matrix is designated as:

  • A Family Empowerment Center (FEC) through the California Department of Education
  • A Family Resource Center (FRC) through the California Department of Developmental Services.
  • A Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education. Serving Marin, Napa, Solano,  Sonoma , Alpine, Amador, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta, Sutter, Tehama, Yolo, and Yuba counties

Matrix Parents and Caregivers Group:

  • Matrix Parents and Caregivers Group is our new, all counties, Facebook group. This is a closed group that prospective members have to answer a few questions to be able to join. It is primarily for parents and caregivers of children with special needs in Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma Counties.
