The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is intended to provide an individual with more choices in their journey to recovery. CSU is open twenty four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week and serves as a space for an individual to receive care when experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
The program is intended to serve as a voluntary alternative to a locked treatment setting allowing an individual the opportunity to reset their emotional states. An individual’s stay within CSU is less than 24 hours as a way to reduce their current stimuli and stressors, and to allow them to remain in the community.
CSU serves up to eight (8) individuals at a time allowing more focused support to help reduce the symptoms of crisis. The smaller environment allows a more tranquil space and opportunity to separate from the daily stressors that can overload an individual.

The Youth and Family Services Program is an intensive treatment program designed to stabilize crisis situations and resolve behaviors that interfere with the adolescent’s ability to function at home, school, foster care, and/or in a group home. The goal is for the adolescent to achieve the level of behavioral control that helps them continue to live at home or the most home-like setting possible, without the need to enter residential treatment or an acute psychiatric facility, as well as to achieving their full personal potential. Services will be provided by various methods: Individual/family therapy, groups, case management, crisis intervention, in-home visits, and other supportive methods. Services are sensitive to the needs of youth and families with diverse cultural backgrounds and partner with referrals from juvenile probation, county mental health, and department of social services.

Client Admissions Criteria: 12 years of age or older; ambulatory, mentally disordered classification – primary diagnosis on Axis I in the DSM-IV (Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).

Exclusionary Criteria: Demonstrate significant behavior related to recent (within last 7 days) or chronic drug or alcohol abuse, threat to harm others (physically violent or destructive), or other unsafe behavior that may jeopardize the staff and/or clients of the program at any given time.
