Groups for Kids

  • Calm Down, Stop, and Think!
Does your child need additional support with self-control, understanding his/her emotions, and managing impulsive behavior?  Through fun games and activities, children will practice the skills needed to better understand themselves and their peers.
  • Anxious, Excessively Worried or Feeling Panic?
This group will help children and adolescents identify their fears and understand how to manage their anxiety. Your child will learn tools and techniques to alter his/her behavior or change the thoughts and reactions to situations that trigger anxiety.
  • Are Your Parents Separated or Getting a Divorce?
Children in this group will learn to cope with the feelings and uncertainties raised as a result of their parents’ separation or divorce. This group will provide kids with stability during a transitional time, allow them to share their feelings and thoughts, and teach them coping strategies.

Challenge Summer School

  • Challenge is a five-week summer program for elementary students with mild to moderate learning or language disabilities
  • The program focuses on maintenance of academic skills, instruction in new strategies to succeed in school, and the continuing development of self-esteem

It is the mission of Morrissey/Compton Educational Center to enable children and adults with learning disabilities and other school-related difficulties to achieve their goals by providing the highest quality diagnostic and intervention services in a supportive environment.
