NOVAworks is a nonprofit, federally funded employment and training agency that provides customer-focused workforce development services. We work closely with local businesses, educators, and job seekers to ensure that our programs provide opportunities that build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to address the workforce needs of Silicon Valley.

The NOVAworks Young Adult Program provides expanded services through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Services may include:

  • Work experience
  • Tutoring
  • Career exploration
  • Job shadowing
  • College transition

You may be eligible for individual support services if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • are not currently a high school or college student;
  • are between the ages of 17 and 24;
  • live in the cities of Cupertino, Los Altos, Milpitas, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, or Sunnyvale or anywhere in San Mateo County;

and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • High school dropout or at risk of dropping out;
  • Pursuing GED or HiSET at an adult education center;
  • Juvenile or adult offender;
  • Pregnant or parenting;
  • Disabled;
  • Low-income, economically disadvantaged, and/or receiving TANF, SNAP, Cash Aid, or General Assistance; or
  • Foster youth
