Parent Solutions
In 2008, Parent Solutions was created to help parents understand the critical role they play in how their children interact with the world externally and process the world internally. Our team provide individual guidance, parent education, and extra support families need when changes happen. Parent Solutions offers a variety of services in English and Spanish. We provide services to multiple counties throughout California and have offices in San Jose and Morgan Hill.
Parent Solutions is built with a strong foundation of collaborative clinicians who are trained in specialty areas to assist your family with everyday to complex situations. Our team of licensed clinical social workers, child and co-parent therapists, licensed marriage family therapists, and associates have specialized training.
Parent Education: We offer one-on-one parent education and are able to provide this service to clients in home or our office. The individual parenting can include developmental parenting, 16-week parenting without violence, adolescent parenting, teenage and at-risk youth parent education, single parenting, behavioral support and guidance parenting, and provide parent education to new and young parents. Our parent education is recognized by the court and we provide a certificate after a minimum of 6 weeks of attendance. These classes are provided on a sliding scale based on proof of income.
Co-Parent / Parallel parent education Class: We have a regular Saturday class in English and a regular Wednesday evening Spanish class that meets for 6 weeks. The class cost is $40 per week. Early registration is encouraged. Our class schedules can be found on our website.
Therapy: Parent Solutions has Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to provide individual therapy to children, adults, older adults, couples and families. Goals may be set by the client, or in some cases the referring party or court order.
Reunification Therapy: Conducted under the guidance of a licensed mental health professional, is a non-confidential therapeutic process whereby the parent who has been separated from and/ or rejected by their child (ren), is “reconnected” with their child (ren), to the fullest extent possible. This process would apply to families in which there has been limited or no contact between parent and child (ren). For the therapeutic process to be effective, both parents need to participate, at the discretion of the therapist.
Co-Parent Therapy / Parallel Therapy: We provide co-parent therapy to one or both parents. The goal of co-parent therapy is to reduce tension and to provide conflict resolution skills with the hope of having both parents meet to work out differences with minimal or no assistance. It is the discretion of the therapist to have individual sessions for safety reasons, when the goals are not similar, and suspend joint sessions if the therapist determines the meetings will not be productive. This can be a great alternative to private Mediation.
Court Custody Evaluations / Brief Focused Assessments: Mrs. Eliazar is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a tireless advocate for children and has taken specialty training in the area of custody evaluations and brief focused assessments including children’s developmental stages, domestic violence, influence of substance abuse on parenting and on children, child abuse, and normal reactions to separation and loss caused by divorce. She is impartial, ethical and works for the best interest of your child (ren).
