Service Dog Tutor
Service Dog Tutor, Jean Cary, provides comprehensive in-home training to adapt a family pet for service work or to fine-tune the behavior of a service dog to do the specific tasks required of the owner. In-home training allows the dog to learn faster because there are fewer distractions than in a group class. Busy families and disabled clients love the convenience of this type of personalized training where the entire family can be involved. Jean trains service dogs for mobility, balance, socialization and for coping with cognitive and neurological disorders.
If clients are considering adding a service dog to their household, Jean will consult on how to select the best dog to perform the tasks required by the client and explain the process and timeline for in-home training. She can also refer reputable breeders of service dogs, explain public access and housing laws for service dogs, and locate specialty training for alerting dogs for Epilepsy and Diabetes.
Jean also offers behavior and obedience training for companion dogs with the goal that the dog can pass the Canine Good Citizen test and demonstrate good public manners.
