TALK: Teaching and Assessing Language for Kids is located in Burlingame, serving the greater Bay Area by providing comprehensive speech and language therapy for children. We offer assessments and intensive programs for the treatment of all speech, voice, language, fluency, social and developmental delays, autism and other disorders. At TALK, we offer assessments and intensive programs for the treatment of all speech, voice, language, fluency, social and developmental delays and disorders.

Our goal is to make speech therapy an effective and rewarding experience for children and their families. We are experts in all areas of communication disorders and strive to be an effective and approachable resource for parents and their children. We understand that no two children are alike, and we tailor our treatment plans to each individual child and family.

We believe your child learns best in a playful, but structured setting with plenty of positive reinforcement. Therefore, TALK offers an inviting, child-friendly environment in which your child will grow and learn. We also encourage our parents to observe and learn from their child’s treatment sessions, ask questions whenever they arise, and take home mastered skills for generalization in the home and school environments.

WHAT ELSE CAN TALK DO FOR YOU?

At TALK we offer a wide range of services, from teletherapy to summer camps!  Whether you’ve been a client of ours for some time or are new to TALK, we have a multiple array of services to support you, other than individual sessions.  As we kick off the new year, we’d like to share all of what TALK has to offer!

Teletherapy – We offer teletherapy sessions through our online platform. We not only implement individual teletherapy sessions, we also facilitate social groups and reading groups virtually as well! Our TALK therapists are able to share therapy materials, provide fun and interactive games, and use a variety of tools to keep our clients engaged throughout their teletherapy sessions!

In Person Individual Therapy – We offer in person individual therapy at our TALK clinic at both our Burlingame and Danville offices. We are able to provide direct speech and language services in a clean and safe environment. All our therapists wear personal protective equipment in addition to following other safety protocols and procedures, and rooms and materials are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day

Social Groups – We offer social communication and play groups for children of all ages. Our qualified speech language pathologists facilitate social communication skills such as improving play skills, self advocacy, turn taking, perspective taking, emotional regulation and so much more!

Reading Groups – We offer reading groups for school aged children of all ages. Our therapists use language based and multi-sensory approaches to reading sight words, teaching phonemic awareness, improving reading fluency, reading comprehension and more!

Feeding Therapy – We offer feeding therapy in both group and individual sessions. Our experienced therapists use the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach (SOS) to introduce new foods by allowing children to interact with food in a playful and nonstress way.

Summer Camps – We offer a variety of speech and language summer camps. Our summer camps are intended to enhance and enrich speech, language, and social communication skills through fun and engaging activities. In the past, TALK has provided summer camps that foster kindergarten readiness, feeding for picky eaters, comprehension, social skills, and auditory and language processing.

Parent Training – Not only do we provide parent training and coaching during teletherapy sessions, we also develop home programs to help our clients generalize their skills in a variety of settings (i.e., home, school). This is an area that we are planning to develop more in the coming year, so stay tuned!
