Therapeeps – Mobile Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Brooke Olson, OTR/L is the owner of Therapeeps Occupational Therapy service, Inc. A mobile outpatient therapy service located in the South Bay providing in-home services with a focus on unearthing individual differences and empowering families to weave their therapeutic self into everyday interactions.
Brooke has extensive training in sensory processing including a mentorship from the STAR Center and is one of only 2 certified DIR/FCD providers in the Bay Area. Brooke is trained in the administration and scoring of the SIPT (Sensory Integration Praxis Test). She has multiple certifications and trainings including Yoga for the Special child, Integrated Listening Systems, Therapeutic Listening, Safe and Sound Protocol, Interactive Metronome, and the SOS approach to feeding. She also provides handwriting services using a variety of multi-sensory programs such as Handwriting Without Tears program, First Strokes and The Size Matters handwriting program.
Brooke enjoys sharing her knowledge with other professionals and has been a speaker at the San Diego Early Childhood Mental Health Conference in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020. She also lectured at the International Conference on child and family maltreatment in 2016.
Brooke’s approach to therapy is a play based model. Teaching and coaching caregivers to develop their therapeutic self in everyday interactions with their children, gain the child’s utmost potential and unearth the child’s individual differences.
Brooke is happy to service children with a variety of needs including delays in fine motor, visual motor, visual perception, handwriting challenges, sensory motor concerns, sensory processing, social emotional concerns, regulatory disorders , self help concerns such as feeding and potty training.
Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Assessments
This is a 1:1 evaluation at your Bay Area home or your child’s school. Includes interviews with parents and teachers, standardized tests, and parent report forms. This takes from 2-8 hours and may be done over one or several days. A written report will be provided. Recommendations are made and goals for treatment are developed with your family. This is a critical first step in your child’s treatment program.
