​ UCPCC provides programs for more than 1,100 children and adults, along with their families, with a broad range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, traumatic brain injuries and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. UCPCC was founded by a group of dedicated community volunteers and parents of persons with cerebral palsy back in 1954. In 1954, we had one program and served 15 children with cerebral palsy. Today, we serve more than 1,100 children and adults, along with their families, with a broad range of disabilities and special needs, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, traumatic brain injuries, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. ​ We have grown to include 9 programs for children and adults; each designed to fulfill our mission to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. We serve seven counties in Central California which include Merced, Madera, Mariposa, Fresno, Kings, Kern, and Tulare counties.

​Adult Day Programs We unite and serve adults with a broad range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and other special needs. We serve adults as young as 18 years of age, while currently our oldest student is 86 years old. We recognize our students have a wide range of desires and needs, and we ensure everyone who walks through our doors has access to and opportunities for community engagement and life-enhancing programs.

Children’s Programs We provide comprehensive effective care to children with special needs, a highly specialized, labor-intensive endeavor. We work with the family and community surrounding the child in a multi-disciplinary, holistic, empowering and supportive way. This approach is the most effective method in making meaningful changes for the child and in the long-term health and self-advocacy for the family. 512 children 469 children Parent & Me Early Intervention Parent & Me Community Program 704 children Family Resource & Empowerment Centers

Parent & Me Early Intervention Program We provide services five days per week for children with disabilities from birth to age 3 and their families at the sites which are designed to be culturally competent, warm and welcoming. Our trans-disciplinary team includes a physical therapist, occupational therapist, behavior specialist, speech therapist, teachers and family resource services. Our specialists also work in the community doing screenings, training and coaching/mentoring in classrooms in Kings County. Also at our Hanford location, Community Kids program is open to all children 0-3.

Community Kids Program Our curriculum-based, Community Kids Program serves typical children ages 0-3 and their parents by providing weekly sessions partnering with our early intervention program in a classroom setting and developmentally appropriate interactive activities. Parents are given the tools to promote early learning in the home and optimize growth and development through play. Parent & Me Early Community Program Our curriculum-based, early education program serves children ages 0-5 and their parents by providing weekly sessions in a classroom setting and developmentally appropriate interactive activities. Parents are given the tools to promote early learning in the home and optimize growth and development through play.

Kings County Family Resource & Family Empowerment Centers Our Family Resource Center provides a place of learning, comfort and courage for families of children with disabilities. Resource Center staff are also parents of children with a disability and are trained to provide parent-to-parent connections and support. After age 3, children transition into the Empowerment Center where advocates trained in special education laws provide support and advocacy to parents as they build new relationships with their local school district and other agencies.
