Camp Via West
Camp Via West provides exceptional programming and a wide variety of activities on a stunning 13.5-acre campus in the Cupertino foothills, located less than 5 miles off highway 280. Our programs are supervised by attentive, energetic, and well-trained staff who help campers stretch their imaginations, learn new skills, enjoy wonderful outdoor experiences, and help make lifetime memories! We welcome campers with disabilities and differing needs.
Camps:
YOUTH SUMMER CAMP
Youth ages 5-17 for day camp and 7-17 for overnight camp have a structured schedule focused on building social skills, increasing their self-confidence, providing opportunities to try new things, expanding their current skillset, and creating memories for life in a natural group setting. The curriculum includes arts & crafts, outdoor education, sports, performing arts, music, swimming, and cooperative games. Day campers will have the opportunity to experience all the same programs and activities as overnight campers without staying in the lodges overnight. Day program runs from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. and families may choose their own hours within that timeframe.
ALTITUDE SUMMER CAMP
Campers entering 6th grade through post high school (up to age 23) participate in a day or overnight project-based program designed for neurodivergent youth who have social/cognitive support needs such as autism and ADHD. Altitude provides opportunities to build social skills, independence, and self confidence in a natural setting to help prepare your child for the transition to young adulthood and the rest of their lives. Programming areas include film, performing arts, sports, STEM, arts & crafts, outdoor education, music, swimming, and cooperative games. Day campers will have the opportunity to experience all the same programs and activities as overnight campers without staying in the lodges overnight. Day program runs from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm and families may choose their own hours within that timeframe.
For post high school campers up to age 23, Altitude offers a unique transition program where campers choose various tracks to focus on including “Counselor In Training” where they learn what it’s like to be a counselor, “Apprenticeship” where they choose a vocation such as culinary arts, facility maintenance/landscaping or housekeeping to develop their skills, and “Internship” where they choose a camp activity to get hands on experience like arts & crafts STEM and more, with the goal of becoming a teacher or assistant teacher. Each camper will have the ability to develop their own personalized experience. There will also be separate housing for our post high school campers. This transition program is only offered during the Altitude session.
We offer 3:1 to 5:1 camper to staff ratios for Altitude Camp.
ADULT SUMMER CAMP
Day or overnight program for adults aged 18+ with a structured schedule focused on building social skills, increasing their self-confidence, providing opportunities to try new things, expanding their current skillset, and creating memories for life in a natural group setting. The curriculum includes arts & crafts, outdoor education, sports, performing arts, music, swimming, and cooperative games. This program centers on enhancing autonomy through supported decision-making, community building, and setting goals towards living the lives that campers want to lead. Day campers will have the opportunity to experience all the same programs and activities as overnight campers without staying in the lodges overnight. Day program runs from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. and families may choose their own hours within that timeframe.
