Willows in the Wind
Help for parents whose teens are experiencing struggles with Addictive Behaviors, Depression, Anxiety, and School Refusal.
Raising a teen that is struggling can be the most difficult thing we will ever do. We all want a relationship of cooperation and trust, but that is not always the reality.
You are not alone. Willows is a non-profit organization that works with parents of teens and young adults in high risk situations. If you are wrestling with a decision about how to help your teen, if you are considering a higher level of care, we can help. Willows provides safe, structured support groups where parents can share with one another and glean valuable information. Whether you are considering an in-home program, therapeutic residential placement, assistance with transitioning home, valuable parent coaching, Willows can help.
Have you placed your daughter or son at a Therapeutic Boarding School for behavior issues? We invite you to join other parents who have done the same.

The Grant Program
Some families in this transition phase need more comprehensive professional support and assistance than Willows is structured to provide. There are several organizations and consultants in the Bay Area who can provide such assistance. They charge professional fees.
In 2017 Willows will award, $1,000 grants to families to help defray the cost for families in need of professional assistance in the areas of transition, consulting, psych testing, legal assistance. The grants are intended to help families that request the additional help and for whom the expense would be a significant burden. The grants are designated for specific providers who have agreed to reduce their fees on a dollar-for-dollar basis that matches the grant, resulting in a $2,000 total cost reduction. The Willows grant will be paid directly to the service provider and is not transferrable.
Some of the programs participating in the Willows Grant Program are:
Coyote Coast Family Counseling Services
Homeward Bound Aftercare
Vive Family Support Services
Please inquire with Willows staff for the names of other participants
Who May Apply
Grant applications are open to families who have shown a commitment to the Willows program by attending and participating in Willows meetings. Willows will not require evidence of financial need, but requests that applicants respect our desire that the grants are intended for families that would be impacted significantly by the cost of such professional programs.
The Willows Grants are intended for families with children in their teens or young adults, generally ages 12 – 24, who will be completing a therapeutic program. The parents of all families who apply will be interviewed.
