About Dr. Robert Closson

Dr. Robert Closson, Ed.D., is the director of Advanced Advocacy Solutions and owns Closson Group. He advocates on behalf of special needs students throughout California, Nevada and Oregon and is listed on California’s Office of Administrative Hearing’s website. Dr. Closson earned his Doctorate from the University of the Pacific (“UOP”) and earned his M.B.A. and B.A. from the University of San Francisco (“USF”). He has written 42 articles of scholar over the last 10-years, four of which were at the request of State Bar of California. Dr. Closson focuses his practice on IEP representation as well as matters pertaining to due process and the discipline of special education students. He is a veteran of more than 800 IEP meetings over the last 16-years and is one of the leading authorities on the subject of IEP procedure in the State of California — if not the Nation. Dr. Closson is currently writing a book on IEP’s and is co-writing software on the subject of special education law.
