Harmonie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families to address concerns including, but not limited to: dissociative disorders, sensory processing disorders, attachment, anxiety, chronic stress, spectrum disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Harmonie believes wellness cannot be addressed using reflection only. By addressing nutrition, sleep hygiene, cognition, and stress/trauma stored in the body, Harmonie works with clients to facilitate healing from both physical and/or psychological stressors.
Using the most recent research in neuroscience and nutrition, Harmonie offers a unique and innovative way to process and then repattern habits, shed old fears and limitations, heal from trauma and illness, and empower individuals to move through life from a place of wholeness rather than scarcity. Therapy can include TRE, EMDR, Mindfulness Meditation, as well as other techniques meant to deepen the awareness of self, and calm both mind and body.
Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. EMDR is useful as an adjunct to traditional therapy with another therapist or in addition to therapy sessions with Harmonie. TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercise) is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. These seven simple exercises are not strenuous, and can be modified to suit any conditions you may have.
Mindfulness Meditation, has been shown to lead to a significant reduction in feelings of distress, increased satisfaction in interpersonal relationships, greater personal awareness and insight, increased skills for managing stress and potentially resolutions to specific problems. Please Note: TRE®, Mindfulnesss Meditation, EMDR, and Integrated Listening Systems can be scheduled apart from traditional talk therapy, or as adjunct to therapy with another therapist, in addition to use in therapy with Harmonie Stone.
