The Healthy Teen Project (HTP)

A place for adolescent Eating Disorders recovery.

The Healthy Teen Project (HTP) is an adolescent day treatment and intensive outpatient program in the South Bay area offering multidisciplinary treatment, including full-time, onsite medical and dietary support, as well as evidence based treatment modalities.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides clients the opportunity to receive intensive day treatment while remaining in familiar surroundings at home and with family. PHP is a period of treatment between acute hospitalization and/or residential treatment and lower levels of care, such as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or outpatient care.  The program consists of 8 hours of treatment Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Our multidisciplinary team includes Therapists, Registered Dietitians, Medical providers and Psychiatrists, as well as other adolescent eating disorder specialists. Each team member has extensive experience working with adolescent eating disorders and is committed to getting to know each client in order to understand the underlying issues driving their eating disorder. We recognize that every client (and family) is unique and therefore develop individualized treatment plans that are most appropriate and relevant for their needs.

All clients are assigned an individual therapist for treatment coordination and individual therapy. They also receive family therapy, group therapy, expressive arts therapy, yoga therapy and health education. All activities are age appropriate and creative in order to engage the teens and encourage self-expression and self-acceptance.

Family services are a core-component of our program. Families (family members and clients) benefit through family therapy sessions as well as family support and education groups. Eating disorders touch everyone in the family so it is our strong belief that the family should have the opportunity to heal together.
