We offer in-home speech and language therapy in and around San Francisco, as well as telehealth services throughout California. Providing children and adults the skills to effectively share their thoughts, convey their feelings, and develop meaningful relationships is at the heart of our practice. We believe in the power of teamwork and partner with our clients and their families to formulate and achieve personalized and functional goals. We also work collaboratively with other disciplines to promote generalization of skills

I’m Shivani, the founder and speech-language pathologist at The Speech Path. I received my doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University, where my clinical and research training focused on communication differences in autism spectrum disorder and related neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., fragile X syndrome). In addition to serving these populations, I enjoy and am experienced in the assessment and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech. I am passionate about working with my clients and their families to help them develop and meet personalized, functional communication goals using evidence-based methods.

I am a certified PEERS® provider and will be offering the PEERS® program for adolescents and young adults via telehealth. The PEERS® program is one of the only evidence-based social skills programs for adolescents and young adults. PEERS® may be appropriate for teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression or other social and behavioral differences. I am thrilled to offer this social group for individuals who are motivated to learn new skills that will help them make and keep friends.

It Takes Two to Talk®

It Takes Two to Talk® is an evidence-based, family-focused early language intervention for parents of children under 5 years of age with expressive and/or receptive language delays and disorders. Children may or may not have other developmental concerns. This Hanen program recognizes parents as a child’s first teacher and empowers parents to facilitate their child’s communication development in everyday situations.

Program includes:

  • 8 group sessions (2.5 hours)

  • 3 individual sessions (1 hour)
