Please join Sarah Firestein, Senior Learning Specialist at Landmark College’s Bay Area Success Center in San Mateo, as she discusses the relationship between executive functioning and social skills:
- Reviewing how executive function influences social skills
- Sharing strategies that target executive functioning skills aimed to improve social skills
- Providing practical tips to support the development of youth’s executive functioning skills to manage t their social skills and interests, with an emphasis on post-school settings
Sarah has more than 22 years of experience in the fields of social services and education, and believes that success means students and families feel seen and heard, with an individually curated set of supports. She considers herself a curiosity-driven thought partner and primarily uses a non-directive coaching approach that is aligned with Landmark College’s evidence-based practices. Sarah also facilitates UCLA’s Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) offered at Landmark’s Success Center.
