Can you be too hard on yourself? Do you ever get stuck in your own inner narrative? Does it sometimes seem like nobody else feels the way you do? If you would like to treat yourself better and model for your children a more compassionate way of relating to yourself, this brief course is for you.

Learn ways to motivate yourself with kindness instead of criticism, recognize that you are not alone in your experiences, work more skillfully with your inner critic, and practice paying attention to the moment and your reactions.

The Mindful Self-Compassion Short Course is based on the groundbreaking research of Dr. Kristen Neff and the expertise of Dr. Christopher Germer. It is a six-week adaptation of the longer, empirically supported Mindful Self-Compassion Course.

Who Should Attend: This course is for adults who serve in a caregiving role – parents, grandparents, babysitters, nannies, au pairs, or other caregivers. This is not a therapy group.

The course is provided by Dr. Angie Breidenstine, who is a Senior Psychologist at the Child Mind Institute (CMI) San Francisco Bay Area program. The Child Mind Institute is a leader in children’s mental health, operation three Mission Areas that work together for greater impact: Care, Education, and Science. The CMI program in the Bay Area provide outpatient mental health services for children of all ages, young adults, and families.
