For Santa Clara County residents ONLY

Kristin Neff, PhD, is considered the foremost expert on self-compassion. And guess what? She is the mom of a son on the Autism Spectrum. As a matter of fact, the documentary Horse Boy is based on the true story of Dr. Neff and her husband Rupert Isaacson’s journey to take their son to Mongolia to experience equine healing. We will be looking at her eight foundational exercises for gaining self-compassion during this series. Participants are encouraged to visit her site for many additional resources at Self-Compassion Exercises by Dr. Kristin Neff Throughout the series, participants are encouraged to take the self-compassion test at https://self-compassion.org/self-compassion-test/

Session Eight: Taking care of the caregiver
Why do we need to be the one to recharge our batteries? Why we need to be the one to show compassion to ourselves. Why we need to make this a part of our caregiver routine. And when we don’t have time or energy to take care of ourselves, we need to do it anyway.

This workshop is facilitated by Laura Beth DeHority, LMFT, a licensed marriage and family therapist.

Made possible by funding from El Camino Health and the County Of Santa Clara.
